ENRICA'S ATTIC

For your holidays by the sea, near Rome, come and visit us in Sabaudia.

Here you will enjoy our wonderful sea dominated  by the Circeo promontory, our golden beaches, and  Paula lake.

We have just finished redecorating our attic called “Enrica” to make it even more cosy and able to meet the needs of a group of friends or a family (up to 6 people).

Located at the second and top floor (no lift) of a small building, surrounded by greenery, and not far from the town municipal square and the city main facilities, shops, restaurants, and commercial centres, it is the ideal solution for those who are looking for a relaxing holiday without giving up any comfort.

The sea, with a capital S, is only 2 km away and you can reach it by bike or bus service.

Enrica’s Attic is composed of:

  • a large lounge with a big round table for six, a fireplace, a TV, and a sofa bed (for one or two people)

  • a big terrace of approximately 60 sq meters dominating the condo garden and surrounded by high fir trees

  • a fully equipped ample kitchen (dish-washer, washing machine, electric oven, fridge/freezer), breakfast table

  • two double rooms furnished in a simple but organized way with plenty of cupboard space

  • a bathroom with a shower.

Cats are welcome, if their humans are attentive and well behaved.

There is ample parking space in the private road leading to the building and, upon request and availability, we can accommodate one car in our covered garage.

Our guests can use the condo garden.

A big supermarket, a chemists, a bar and a restaurant are within 200 meters from the flat.

PLEASE NOTE: if you want to come with a big group of people, you can book the “Alessandro’s Flat” as well, and accommodate up to 10 people in all.

Small towns and villages in the vicinity

  • Priverno: the historical centre (very good Pizzeria “Da Gennaro” on the main square in front of the Dome)

  • Fossanova: Medieval village and wonderful Gothic Cistercian Abbey dating from the  XIIth century. You can take your aperitif at the “Bar dei Guitti”, eat at the local restaurant, and visit the museum

  • Sermoneta: Caetani Castle (not miss the daily visit of the internal courts), historical centre with the Synagogue, the Merchants’ Loggia , the Medioveal walls and, to end a perfect day out, try the “Ghost” Trattoria by the Castle entrance, where you will taste quality dishes with local products. At the foot of the Sermoneta hill, there is the naturalistic oasis of Ninfa Botanical Garden and Caetani Castle (wwwfondazionecaetani.org) which it’s a pity to miss. Find its opening days (check on the net).

Finally, in June the Pontino Festival of classical music (www.campusmusica.it/festivalpontino) takes place. It is a yearly event organized in the summer in picturesque locations, such as the Caetani Castle, Fossanova and other Cistercian Abbeys of the area.

  • Borgo Faiti (LT): Piana delle Orme Museum (museo.pianadelleorme.com). This very interesting and interactive museum contains many military vehicles of WWII and objects of common use among the inhabitants of the Pontine marshes before the drainage. You can eat within the premises and then carry on your visit which lasts no less than 4 hours.

  • San Felice Circeo: the old centre uphill is Romanic and Medieval and you can wonder through the small alleys and discover quaint corners. Within the area you can also visit:  Punta Rossa Lighthouse, the Grotto delle capre and trek up to the Circeo Promontory. The view from the top is certainly worth the effort.

  • Terracina: in the old town historic centre, uphill, you will find Roman and Medioeval remains. In the summer there is a lively night life in this area with bars and restaurants open till late. The new town by the sea is dominated by the Temple of Jupiter Anxur, a magnificent example of Roman holy architecture.

  • Gaeta, a quaint small town further down the coast. Don’t miss the Montagna spaccata and the Grotta del Turco;

  • by the coast between Gaeta and Sperlong you can visit Tiberius’ Cave Museum by the sea. You will be surprised by the interesting gypsum reproductions of wonderful Roman statues fond on the site.

  • Sperlonga, a quaint small town built in Moorish style which will remind you of Greece. You can lose yourself in the little alleys where many bars and restaurants will offer you good meals and drinks.

  • Prossedi: a small village which has kept its original country flavour. Here you can taste very good food at the “Osteria Persei” where booking is necessary.

  • Maenza: small village with a very well preserved historical centre, various churches,  and a small Medieval stronghold interesting from and architectonic point of view.
